Windows XP does not ship with java
virtual machine. It can be downloaded for free from: http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm
Additionally, to run Alice you must have:
- Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0 or Windows2000
- a VGA graphics card capable of high (16 bit) color
- If installing on Windows 95/98 you need Microsoft's Direct 3D
Library (Direct X). If you do not have Direct X you can download
it here.
- If installing on Windows NT 4.0 you need Microsoft's Service Pack
3. If you need Service Pack 3 you can download it here.
In addition, you should have the following:
- A Pentium running at 90 Mhz or better
- 64 megs of RAM
- A sound card
Alice doesn't need any special 3D hardware to run, though Alice will
take advantage of any 3D board that accelerates Microsoft Direct3D if one
is present in your machine.
