What happened the int to string function?
In 3/1/2012 version of Alice, the int to string function has transformed into a thin purple box. It still works, but it's a bit weird...

I believe Arty-FishL made a patch that fixes this.

You do not need to install any patch for the "int as string" function. You are just missing the correct resources file. Attached is the correct resource file. Extract the content to your Alice-Required-resources-en folder.

Hi Aikmin
A similar problem seems to exist with the java style files. Is there a fix for them as well?

Might be good to update the download with these.

Looked over Arty's patch, and decided to try adding call entries to ...math.Int to the format map of the two Java files using Dreamweaver. They work fine now.

Fixed in version 2.3

...and in the newest version of 2.3 the problem is back again.

MrMoke 04-07-2013 02:06 PM

Not Exactly
The documentation for version 2.3.3 indicates that it has been renamed to just [int<>] in the World Functions.

DensetsuNoKaboom 04-07-2013 06:36 PM

Huh, I could've sworn...

The change does add interesting functionality

The behaviour of that function must have been changed in the recent update, because it crashes after "Add Int of value to Dec of Value" for me on Alice 2.2 and 2.3, but not 2.3.3, where it displays those interesting aspects.

Quite Possible
Yeah- That was obviously the first thing I decided to try, most likely just to see if it would actually work. The result gave me the incentive to play around a little more. Once I observed the fact that the numbers are being converted in background, I saw new possibilities for simplifying coding. Also, maybe a little closer to Java String Concatenation?

The code that breaks older versions, probably wouldn't have worked with the older versions anyway.

All machines in my classes are running 2.3.3:), now 2.3.4b
