Nice work!
This is an interesting game, and could be pretty incredible if you did some more work. I would suggest maybe using more detailed textures, even with cubes you can make cool graphics. I was actually considering making a game like this before, only using the faeries in the Alice gallery.

Thanks, question about cube textures
I would really like to get cube textures for them, they look kinda bland, I just also ramp up some other grafics, :) but I cant seem to find any cube textures... do u have to make custom ones in blender? Or can I just download them? Thanks!
Also ill upload the newest version adds 6 on each team. |
That's up to you!
No, the texture's just a bitmap image (.bmp) that wraps around the model. You should try experimenting with textures, it really adds a lot to Alice programming. Moke and I had a discussion on how to view the textures of objects that you can view here:
http://alice.org/community/showthread.php?t=10575&highlight=texture By default, the shape objects don't have a texture, and thus are white. If you have further problems, PM me or keep posting here. :) Till then! -Jrr |
So...
I use gimp to change the textures then import them to alice?
|
Work Around
For the moment i just make squares with textures on them and put them on the edges around the cubes, i think its better for this it adds much more crisp textures to the cubes, i still am trying to figure it out the other way.

Gimp works
Gimp works, I just hit the print screen button and past it into mspaint and edit the texture as I see fit. The Shapes have no textures, to you just make a bmp image, import it into Alice, and set it to the object. If you don't like the way it looks, just keep editing your bitmap image until you like it. Good luck with it!
