Spec for MP3 files compatible with Alice
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I am a computer sciences teacher from Israel. I have been working with Alice 2 for over 10 years now. I noticed that some MP3 files work with Alice and some don't. Is there a spec for MP3 files that are compatible with Alice? I tell my students to run MP3 files through Audacity (import and the export as MP3) and 90% of the cases that does the trick. However, sometimes it doesn't... I assume if I knew the spec I could set the parameters I'm attaching a zip file containing the following files (none of them can be played by Alice, except the WAV file): LION_ORG.MP3 - the original file LION_AUDACITY.mp3 - after "export as mp3" from Audacity LION_AUDACITY_192.mp3 - same, but set the bit rate to 192 bits/sec LION.wav -Wave file (only one that can be played by Alice) LION_FROM_WAV.mp3 - mp3 reading the WAV file and exporting it back to MP3 (even that didn't work...) Thank you Yossi Yaron |
I have forwarded your question to the dev team, and cc'd you on that message
I will post their answer here as well. Don Slater Alice Project |
