The Alice.org Object Gallery

I wanted to download some objects from the online gallery onto my computer because my web gallery ist kaput, but I'm not sure how to go about this. Any help would be appreciated.

ok

Go to the Alice gallery
Find your object and download it
Locate your Alice folder, where the Alice application is and the required folder is
Go to \Alice 2.2\Required\gallery
Here is all the folders with all the Alice objects, put your downloaded object here somewhere
Run Alice and it should now permanently be in the object gallery
Or download it and ever time you want to use it go to file>import and import it, but I dont think thats what you wanted, so do what I said before.

That doesn't seem to have worked.
The object is a .zip file and it's in the gallery folder, but not the gallery in Alice. Should it be unzipped?

yes

(unzips)
That doesn't seem to have helped.

If by some antimiracle it downloaded as a zip, try renaming it from [whatev].zip to [whatev].a2c:)

DensetsuNoKaboom 07-08-2010 05:43 PM

Not only by some antimiracle did it download as a zip, by another antimiracle I can't change the file extension.

zonedabone 07-08-2010 08:30 PM

By the power of the antimiracle, I hereby tell you how!:D
Windows:

In a folder window, go to tools>Folder Options...
Go to the View tab.
Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'
The file type should now be stated in the name, and renaming the file to [lala].a2c will work. I think this issue is IE specific.
