1) how do i use the ask user for a number or string method? Try making a string variable, then drag it into the world and set it to "string set value to", then drag Ask User For A String into the last box. Then do something similar for Ask User For A Number.
2) how do i get alice to randomly decide between methods? Drag an If/Else into the world, then find a world function called chooseProbabilityOfTrue and put it in the "true" box.
3) what are visulisations and how do i use them? ...I don't know.
4) how can i get alice to reconise the SHIFT and Ctrl key's? You don't.

thanks for you help

Visualizations are too glitchy to use very effectively, and you can recognise shift and control with codes. make and event on any keypress, and then set a number variable to expressions>code This is the keycode of the key pressed. compare that to any key, including control and shift.

OK, I still don't have anything on shift or ctrl. But...

What you can do for strings is follow my earlier instructions to make a method that says "string set value to (ask user for string)", then you put in an if/else saying "if string=(insert answer here), then say You win!, else say You lose."
