Default Chapter 10 flight simulator project 1 on 303 PLEASE HELP THIS IS MY FINAL PROJECT - 04-26-2010, 06:42 PM

I cant get the rings to disappear when i pass through them, I Am using The If/else statement and if the seaplane is within 1 meter of the (new parmeter) torus, resize to zero. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

You could let it set the opacity to 0%, just drag the opacity tile in the Method and let it set itself to zero.

That way it wil surely disappear ^^

It's not the disappearing method that's faulted, it's the collision checking. Put the if/else if into an infinite loop and see if that works.

Or just make it simple and put a box in the middle of every ring, and making it, if plane is within = 2 meters of box - Ring showing = false and make the point go up or what ever you want

The if/else statement is correct. The resize to zero is the problem. Reaper was correct when he said the opacity method. You might need to play with your 1 meter as well. Remember that it is measured from the center of the vechile.

So below the if part goto the ring in the menu and click on properties and drag the opacity to the statement. Set it to 0. Another method is in the same place called "is showing" which when set to false is invisible also.

No I didnt see your post. I think what happened was when I made my post was actually before yours but I had to go and help the wife and I forgot to submit it. I submitted it later.

I think your way would definitely make it easy but the question comes that comes to mind is what if the plane was above the ring? Lol! Of course he wasn't asking that..but he needs a control statement for that. At any point I think your marker method is the best way to go about it cause it would eliminate where the rings center really is at.
