3rd person camera & character control via mouse

I know this has been asked numerous times, but the closest I could come to an answer is for a first person cameral control, and I wasn't all that impressed with what I saw, at that. No offense to the author. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I'd like something a little more like the MMO's that are popular right now. I'd like to be able to click a part of the screen and drag the camera angle without loosing sight of my main character.

If any new information has surfaced, I would appreciate your input. If not, maybe we could discuss this and figure something out.

ahh huh. ok, just go to the events box, create an event, and there should be something that says let the mouse control the camera. unfortunately, i do not know how you can not lose sight of your character. this method lets you drag the camera to see a 360˚ view of your world.

another problem with this is that you can't move the camera up or down. and it takes an awful long time to get the full 360˚.
