Default Want To Try 2D Animation? - 12-16-2010, 03:28 PM

It happens every once in a while. You are making something on Alice that you think would be better in 2D than 3D, and you don't know what to do. You try Googling it, but nothing comes up. If you want to make a 2D animation, then you need Scratch.

Scratch Homepage: http://scratch.mit.edu/
Scratch Download Page (Account Signup Required): http://scratch.mit.edu/download
Scratch Download Page (Account Signup Bypassed): http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Scratch_1.4_Download

Normally, when you choose to download Scratch, you have to sign up for an account, but if you are one of those people that doesn't want to give away information about yourself, I have made a bypass link for you. I am on the Scratch Forums too, and I go under the username "David_B" (without quotes). I hope to find you there.

I find game maker is also an excellent, free tool for 2d animation/game design

Scratch confused me at first, but I'm beginning to get used to it...

I downloaded GameMaker once and it didn't work at all.

Can I use sprites for objects in Scratch? Like 2d Megaman sprites?

("Falcon" - "on")+(Wolf(conversion.Spanish))
(Falco) + (Lobo)
=
FalcoLobo = falcolobo

What exactly are you asking? I don't quite understand what you mean, but if you explain it in greater depth, I may be able to help you.

i used to use Scratch, when you compare it to Alice it seems in Scratch theres a lack of everything, except a bug free environment.

I have mostly moved on from Alice, but may still respond to messages if important [¬º-°]¬

I still use Scratch, but to tell you the truth, I feel the same way. Although I don't have to many problems with Alice and bugs.
