Pft. I'm set to invisible because I like not having to respond to posts and PMs immediately. Granted, I usually do anyway, but I like the option nonetheless.

And I can see invisible users to make sure bots and spammers don't do stupid things to the boards while I'm on.

I can usually tell if you're on by how many members are in the "currently active users" section. If it says there are so-and-so many users on, but it the number of names it displays is one less, then you are online.
