Question Intro Text box - 12-15-2011, 08:31 PM

You know how when a character asks a yes or no question, a text box appears with the question and the buttons yes and no? Well, can you make a text box appear with just one button (that would say continue) to list the instructions?

You could do that with billboards. Make two rectangles, one with the instructions, and one with the word "continue" on it, then make those pop up at the beginning of the world and make an event that makes them disappear if the continue rectangle is clicked.

Actually, that's a much better idea than what I would have probably suggested. Being me, I would have suggested jython or some complicated thing like that.

Your way is what they do in most games (at least on PS3 I know they do), there is a built in way to show dialogs, some games utilise this, but most games show their own custom graphic dialogs, it looks much nicer.

PS - have I ever mentioned I like your signature

I have mostly moved on from Alice, but may still respond to messages if important [¬º-°]¬

Well it depends on you what to do or what to write in text box..It has two option i.e. yes or no and if one choose yes than you have to write something about yourself and if you opt no than there is no need to write anything..
