Resize objects on one axis at design time

I recently created a model for alice in blender. When I imported it into alice, however, the model was stretched out of proportion. I was able to work around it by creating a method that resizes all the parts to the right proportions after the game has started, but I would like to be able to resize them in the add objects window. I can resize the object in the add objects window, but it resizes objects on all axes at once. Is there any way to do this?
