Default MacBook overheating - 06-02-2012, 07:50 PM

Hi,
I've just started using Alice 2.2 for a uni course on a 2011 MacBook Pro running OSX Lion.

I've discovered that whenever I'm using Alice the machine heats up dramatically within 5-10 minutes and stays that way until I quit Alice whereupon it starts to cool down.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them, I'm really enjoying Alice and need to use it for my studies but am panicking a bit about the heat.

Thanks,
Yeldo

Alice is a somewhat processor-intensive program. Try using a cooling pad, turning the power setting on your book to "High Performance" (which should make the fan work harder), or using task manager to see if there are some processes you can disable to free up resources.

If you have the ability to expand your memory that may also help since it will have more capacity. For this and other things.
