Default Import or play video - 02-02-2012, 05:30 AM

How do i play a pre recorded video?

I want to show a video before the game starts but i don't know how to do this.

If importing a video is not possible, how can i make one within Alice?

importing videos as far as I know isn't possible, unless you take a still frame image of the entire video then had them play in order(which is unrealistic to do since you would have hundreds of still images to make a decent video)

If you are stuck on a project, check out the tutorials I made here at this link:

There are lots of tutorials on it so far, including some youtube videos, check it out

Go to my youtube channel to check out my alice 2.2 tutorials I have there..

This caught my interest. Mostly because the other day a plugin for CryEngine known as CryVideo was released that allowed scaleform-like playing of videos for indie developers, but back on topic.
So in case Arty gets back, do ya think it's possible to import a Java library of video codecs such as FFmpeg and get them to work in Alice? Just pasting a video in front of the render target is a good enough goal. We don't need fancy video-textures.

Nothing is impossible.. All you need is just make some efforts to fulfill it.. Nothing is that much easy as one suppose..
