using a 3D modelling program and then translating it to an ASE file using one of the many documented methods on this forum.

Surely you can do a more helpful reply than that to a newcomer? Yes, there are questions that would need asking, such as:

What 3D modelling pakages do you have access to?
Do you have any experience in 3D modelling?
Did you plan te download objects from somewhere and import them?

I don't really know the answers to this, or what good search terms might be. But it does look like it is possible to do from the Beta version of Blender, which has the major advantage that it is Free Software. Here is a tutorial for Blender 2.5 export to ASE
http://www.katsbits.com/tutorials/bl...ase-models.php
The disadvantage of that approach is that blender is farly intimidating to the newcomer. I have only skimmed the first part of the tutorial, and cannot comment on its difficulty.

How to Import Objects Into Alice

My advice would be to find 3D models and import them into Alice rather than try to create your own objects. That would be much more complicated and would require the mastering of a 3D modeling program. Instead, simply find a good model online and convert it into an Alice-compatible format using the above link/tutorial.

If you are unable to convert the object(s), you can provide a link to the object and one of us might be able to convert it for you if we have the time.

Okay, thank you for clearing this up. I will try to learn that program from katsbits to my ability. Thanks again

It would extremely difficult to create your own objects, I have created my own objects, but I don't know how to convert them to an ASW file. I would recommend just downloading them from safe sites.
