user follw given sequence

hi all,

Im trying to make a childrens game. The aim of the game watch a sequence, shown by shapes flashing, then recreate the sequence by clicking on the shapes in the correct order.

I am really stuck

I know i need nested if statements buts thats all I know.

any one kind enough to help me achive this?

whats running through my head only for the first sequence would be random numbers, if this number then make this shape highlight and so on, but then you need to store that number order in a list of variable i think and have it ready to compare to a list that the user would generate by choosing shapes, i'm not sure how to store values in a variable or even a parameter with a mouse click either though so you'll have to get some more in depth help from there
