Default Scaling an axis of an object independently - 09-03-2007, 11:29 AM

Hi:

My main goal for this question is to be able to make a "rope" object in Alice. I've found nothing in either the local or web Alice galleries that looks remotely like a rope. If anyone knows of something like a rope, I'd love a pointer as to where to find it and you can ignore the rest of this post.

I tried to use the cylinder object in the Shapes folder, but it is unfortunately not the right size. I can only find a way to resize an object proportionally - that is, to resize all of the axes equally. For a rope, I need a long, thin cylinder. Trying to make it long also makes it very thick.

Is there a way to scale just one dimension of an object that I'm missing?

Thanks,
Ryan

Use the more/dimension option on the resize command (only available in a method).

Also, a simple cylinder is of the objects that is pretty easy to import into Alice. See http://www.alice.org/community/showthread.php?t=571 and http://www.alice.org/community/showt...light=cylinder .

I'm pretty sure you could also merely use the stage setup tools to stretch out a prop.
