Default Assignment 4 - 06-17-2012, 07:03 AM

Had an issue figuring out the random number parameter, but I finally got the hang of it. motion is still clunky and I am getting used to the animation but the lack of outer body movement is still beyond me and I don't understand how to use pose.

From the way I understand pose, you choose different poses that you are going to want you object to go to for instance say you want to have a persons arms raise up into the air.

First off you have to choose the object that you are going to want to set the pose for. At this point, I go ahead and save the starting pose as "Start", that way I can always go back to the starting pose easily. To do this you look at the details window on the bottom left of the screen, and choose the properties tab. Here you will see the "Capture Pose" button. Just above the button a little text box will open that will allow you to name the pose, this is where I put "Start". Now, anytime you want to move your object back to the start position, you can use the method, set pose.

Now for our example of raising a persons arms into the air. On your person object, choose the arms, and rotate them into place like they are raised into the air. Once you get them where you want them, do the "Capture Pose" thing again. NOTE: Make sure you do it on the whole character, and not just one arm.

At this point the animation is easy. You make your person set pose to start. Then use the set pose method to put his arms up, and hit play.

Let me know if you need more clarification
