You might wish to search the forum before saying your program is the first.

Search for guitar_villains. (specifically, guitar_villains.a2w). There is also a second program on file here that mimics the original Guitar Heros but I forget its name.

But at least you created a great program in Alice!!

By the way, isn't your avatar the front of the new call of duty game? It looks cool!

Great job on the environment, but i think you should of spent more time coding first haha!

I tried a music game like this, but modeled it after FlashFlashRevolution, the project failed horribly. It was impossible to sync the movement of the arrows to the music, because it would always lag for a different amount of time at certain times, throwing off the sync.
I guess there was just too much going on with the movement of the arrows and dummys, so it lagged.

I'd like to see you actually have the notes more synced to the song to give it a better feel! Good luck!

Exclamation Doubt about the events - 10-05-2010, 05:01 PM

Hi!
Enjoyed playing this game, although it was very short and wished it could be longer. But great for a little demo.
I have a question, I was checking your code, and saw that you didnt use any methods at all (maybe i missed one or 2). So I started checking the events and saw that you had invisible (opacity 0%) cylinders 4,5, and 6 in the screenplay. Also saw that everytime you push A,S, or D this cylinders are activated too. According to your event when one of the notes is within 0.02 meters of these bigger cylinders you score. But, how does it actually work? Cause I thought that you scored when the note was a certain distance within the cylinders that are shown and controlled by the A,S, and D keys.
Please excuse the bad English and thanks in advance.

Your English is perfect. Anyway...there are methods but very simple ones. The notes dont come down for me for some reason but i used just simple stuff. I would have to look into this. I did this a while ago and this is my old stuff, i probably have different methods now. I will have to look through this

Lightbulb Permission to use your code - 10-05-2010, 11:23 PM

Thank you, I will wait for your reply about the methods then.
Also, can I use your code in one of my school projects? It is just that you made it so simple and understandable for such a good game that I would like to show my teachers that you can build great things from simple materials. Of course I will give you credit.
Thanks.
