Make it RAIN!!!

I wanted to ask if there is any way to add rain in Alice (for various game possibilities, plus I like rain ). Even if it ins't an effect or something else complex, does anyone know/have any transparencies with rain droplets that could be tied with a vehicle to the camera, and just moved up/down quickly?

Any other methods/better ideas?

Here. The rain was just a quick addon and could be modified a bit to be more realistic....

Thanks, the cylinder idea hadn't come to me, and I might try it if i can't get a rain pattern on Gimp.
BTW: the "Lightning Road" thing is AMAZING
