Question Resize a shape in one dimention - 04-16-2011, 08:28 PM

When I go to resize a shape in Alice (like a cylinder), it resizes proportionally, meaning that all three dimensions (X,Y,and Z) get resized too. Is there a way (and how) to resize a shape in only one dimension? (Ex: making the cylinder longer without making it any wider)

after you put the method down, go under more..., and find dimension, this will let you stretch it in only one dimension.

What do you mean by "put the method down"? When I put the object into the world, what do I do after that? Sorry I sound like a n00b, but I could really use your help.

You can only change the proportions during runtime, not when your "dropping" the items in the world. Do you know how to use methods Revolt?

I know how to use methods (like move at speed, turn, roll, etc.), but 1) I doubt those are the kind of methods you guys are talking about, and 2) I have no idea what "runtime" is. I'm not new to Alice, but I've never had to elongate an object in one dimension. I appreciate how helpful you guys are, but I'm afraid I'll need some more instruction on the steps to do this.

You can't resize in one dimension in the object editor (what you see before you press "Play"), but to resize in just one dimension during runtime (when you press "Play"), just click "more" in the resize method.

The picture should be self-explanatory; tell us if you're still unsure.
