Ok so I have little experience with Alice and tried creating a moon landing. Not going so well, having difficult time understanding how to move the legs when he goes out the space shuttle door, changing from a earth scene, to space, etc. any advice on how to complete

Well I belive you would have to use sub-parts in order to move the legs of your astrounat. To use them you click the small plus next to the astrounat in the object tree. In order to change from lunar landscape to a Earth seen what I would do is to put in both lunar and Earth ground you want and when you want and set the one you are not using at a particular scene to have the isShowing variable(which can be found in the properties of the object) set equal to false which would make it invisible.
