Sound causes alice to go bellyside up

Okay so I have been using Alice for the past semester of school and just recently it decided that it does not want to accept sounds of any format. I only know of .wav and .mp3 being accepted but everytime i try to run a program with a sound in it it crashes and gives me the error message that follows.
