Question Is it Possible to... - 11-29-2008, 11:46 AM

Create a completely 2D game using animated sprites?

Cause I'm trying to make an ONKs(tm) Game (A worms-style game with an inapropriate twist ). I already know how to make animated 'squares' but i'm afraid a completely 2D game will be unallighned, any ideas to keep it aligned

PS this game is for game boy... It will look wierd when its finished

in Alice I really doubt the viability of a 2d game.

I would try something like Scratch for that. It's pretty simple and comes with a lot of examples. Maybe even look into Game Maker, I've had a few friends very fond of that.

Or, if you prefer to program in Java, try GreenFoot. See http://www.developer.com/java/other/article.php/3761811

If that doesn't work for you, go to http://www.developer.com/java/other/article.php/3782471

Download Ericson's multimedia tools referenced there and start programming in Java very close to the level where the rubber meets the road.
