Default Making the Camera view a specific angle - 03-02-2011, 10:34 PM

Hello

As part of a class project we have to design a good presentation through Alice. What I am attempting to do is design a short 1 level game. It has an introduction where a space ship lands on a space dock and a space man comes into view and gives a brief dialogue after this dialogue and what I want it to do is to have the camera move to another specific point of the world and view the elements of the game that are are already set up. How would you go about this? Any advice? Thanks

Click the "add objects" button to go to the world view. (I think that's what the button is called. Something like that.) Move the camera until you find the place where you want it to be. Now on the right hand side, there should be something "more controls." Something like that. Click it and click "drop dummy at camera." There should now be a new object in your object tree called "dummy." This object is an invisible object that has no "content" but has a position and orientation in space. Now whenever you want the camera to go to the same view, put "<camera> move to <dummy>." You can have as many dummies as you want, like if you want to have multiple pre-set views in your world.

Projects
-Escape the Kitchen
-That ninja animation
-Hill Collision

Upcoming Projects
-Some penguin adventure game?

Move the camera to the locations then press drop dummy at camera (you need to click add objects first, then more controls >> to find it) at each of the locations you want to have the camera at.

Then add a camera set point of view to dummy for each of the dummy objects when you want to move to their location.
