Google blender help or blender tutorials and you'll find tons of stuff to help you. There's even an online book somewhere (not sure where).

same thing with me, I downloaded it today and i don't even know hot to create new objects... Let alone open up an object and customize it, like making it smoother.

Check out my best projects so far and please comment:

Not sure if this will help but here:
Step 1: Download the zip file of your model (most likely from sketchup warehouse) and "unzip it" with one of the many zip programs out there.

Step 2: What you will probably end up with is a txt file, kml file, folder with textures in it, and your model, most likely in .dae format (if you downloaded from sketchup warehouse.) You can delete the kml and txt files, and put the folder with the textures somewhere safe. Now, copy the file directly into blender's file location. You can only do this if you have correctly installed the collada plugin into Blender, which can be accessed from the sticky on importing objects in the how do i... forum.

Step 3: Open Blender. Delete the cube that it starts with by just pressing delete then enter. Then go to file - import object - collada 1.4 (.dae) and find your file, press enter, and wait for it to load. (usually takes a couple of seconds)

Step 4: You may not see your model at first. That means your model is huge. Go to select - select/deselect all. Then go to object - transform - scale and drag and click and repeat until you have the correct size of the object. The shortcut for this is pressing s. you may need to rotate it too, so just press r.

Step 5: Once this finished, go to file - export object - wavefront (.obj) (remember to have everything selected) and export the model as a .obj. I recommend not messing around with the options it gives you, unless you know what you are doing.

Step 6: Close blender, and open biturn. Find your .obj file for your model and convert it into .ase. Then check your new .ase file for any empty "" double quotes (usually at the beginning) with anything. Then import your object into a template alice world to make sure your model works.

Step 7: Remember those textures that you almost forgot about? Now you must import your textures into your world and set them to their correct pieces to your model.
