Default Questions About Linux - 04-16-2011, 10:47 AM

Hello Alice Community!

I am thinking about switching from using Windows XP to the latest version of Linux, but I would like to know if I need to fdisk my computer to do so.

I would like to basically have Linux "override" my XP installation, but before I switch, I would like to know how to.

I would also like to know if you can save all of the software, and all of the files you have on your computer. I will stick with XP if the answer to my question is not what I want, but otherwise, I hope to soon go Linux.

P.S.: Does Internet Explorer 9 work with Linux?

Thanks in advance!
David B.

Linux is more user friendly but you can't download or do ANYTHING on it (maybe minecraft but thats beside the point). My word of advice: Get the mac OS. Its only 60 dollars.

Thank you! I am not going to buy the Mac OS simply because I have finally managed to get my Linux working! I will post a picture some time!
