Default Methods and Resetting Objects? - 06-08-2012, 05:14 PM

Those of you that see me and my class posting in the lounge, I have an actual question for you folks. After setting up a custom method, is the best way to "reset" the character or object by right-clicking in the object-view window?
For example, I had a mummy fall down and after....a while...I did that and used "stand" and "turn to face" where it was before. I was a bit thrown that things stayed the same in-camera after creating the method.
Is there a better way or would that be pretty much it?
Thanks in advance!

If you mean you used the "in world" (the place where you are able to put stuff into a world), and moved the model around, and by using that made the method?

When ever I do something like that, I always place a dummy object where the model is and then once I am done making the method, I put:
modelX move to dummy
and orient to dummy

It should put it right where it was whenever you put the dummy down.

I hope this helps.

Better yet, use "set point of view to," which is a combo of "move to" and "orient to."

I tried a little of that last night, the "in world" was what I meant, lol. I'll probably get to play with it more once this course is done. I only get this month to learn as much as I can, which of course, ain't too much time! But, all the info IS being put to good use as I go.
