Default [REQ] Gas Tanks and Billboard - 11-15-2010, 08:19 AM

So my programming class is working with alice and i am entering a competition to design a rather specific game. I have most of the game done but i need two objects that i cant find anywhere on the website.

If no one knows of these or has seen them then i will look into making them myself but i wanted to check first.

The objects i need are a gas tank , and a billboard or highway sign (large enough to fit text on. If anyone has either of these please post.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I would doubt someone would make these on account it's more effort than it's worth, however you might be able to do it yourself without having to use a separate program, if you have a picture (made in MS paint) of pretty much a white rectangle, import it into Alice (as a billboard...hehe...get it?). After you've done that, make a 3D text saying whatever you want to put on the billboard, and move it up to the white rectangle. For the pole holding the billboard up, simply use the cylinder shape and rotate it accordingly.

As for a gas tank, I assume you mean large ones that hold reservoirs of oil, you can again use the cylinder tool for the main part, then apply the semi-sphere to each flat side.

Kinda confusing, but I hope I at least helped a little!

You don't really have to do all that for the billboard. All you have to do is design what you want your billboard to look like and then import it into alice.

I'm a web developer/ designer now.
